CMAQv5.0.2 WRF land use options

Brief Description

WRF has the option of using different land use data in its surface physics schemes. The CMAQ criteria and multi-pollutant models were updated to support WRF 1992 USGS, 2002 National Land Cover Database (NLCD), and 2006 NLCD land use options. This update is backwards compatible with older WRF NLCD runs. A conflict with multi-pollutant non-reactive emissions and the NH₃ bidirectional exchange model was also resolved. Additionally, how bidirectional exchange handled different land use classes was simplified.

Significance and Impact

This update does not change the results of older model simulations but adds support for NLCD land use data options in WRF.
